RMHA Provides Food to Residents
The Housing Authority of the City of Rocky Mount (RMHA) and its governing Board saw the need to create a 'safety net' for residents, youth and adults, during the current food crisis.
The loss of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits directly impacted public housing residents and lending some assistance to households during this time was imperative.
Therefore, RMHA pooled its resources with a long-standing community partner, and the two entities were able to meet the needs of multiple residents by providing fresh vegetables, whole chickens, and bakery products.
All RMHA staff played a part in the packaging and subsequent distribution processes and totally enjoyed being able to assist their residents in this time of uncertainty.
